Land of Hope and Glory aus: WORLDS OF MUSIC

Das Lied "Land of Hope and Glory" gilt als inoffizielle Nationalhymne Englands. Die Melodie stammt aus dem Trio des ersten Marsches "Pomp and Circumstance" von Edward Elgar, der Text wurde von Arthur Christopher Benson (1862-1925) verfasst. Das Lied wird traditionell zu Beginn der "Last Night of the Proms" gespielt.

1931	12. November Die Londoner Abbey Road Studios werden eröffnet: Sir Edward Elgar dirigiert das London Symphony Orchestra in Studio 1. Unter anderem wird hierbei sein "Pomp and Circumstance" ("Land of Hope and Glory") aufgezeichnet.
